Circulating rumor that popular singer who has been supported by young Cambodian youths was shot many times and sent to hospital and some news read that he had accident. And other news released that the above news was not true. Inventing rumor is to defame his reputation.
On July 7, 2009, Khemra Sereimon was invited to perform concert at Olympic Stadium in order to hold the first celebration of Preah Vihear temple listed as World Heritage Site in Canada in July 07, 2008 by UNESCO. The concert was organized by ministry of culture and City Hall.
The truth revealed that he did not meet accident and was shot as what the local newspapers and magazines read.
Brother of Khemra Sereimon, Khemra Pirum, was quoted by the local newspapers as saying that he doubted that why they invented the untrue story which harmed his brother’s reputation. Therefore, he expected that the authorities will investigate and search for the truth in order to make sure that why the story and rumor were invented and what is the purpose and where the source is from.
